United Feed Mill Vietnam Affirms Its Position at VietStock 2024 with Advanced Animal Feed Solutions

VietStock 2024 has brought together top experts and companies in the livestock and aquaculture industries. At this event, United Feed Mill Vietnam (UFVN) not only participated with a booth but also organized a technical seminar “Piglet Feed from Thailand: Trial Results on Vietnamese Farms” to introduce UF's feed solutions. Dr.Nguyen Thi Kim Loan, a lecturer at the University of Agriculture and Forestry in HCMC, presented impressive trial results and shared additional findings from Dr.Tokach’s research on enhancing productivity and profitability for farms, opening new avenues for collaboration and development for Vietnamese farmers.

From Thailand to Vietnam – A Mission to Support Farmers

With over 35 years of experience in Thailand, United Feed Mill (UF) upholds the philosophy of “Being a Friend to Farmers,” prioritizing farmers’ benefits as it expands its operations into Vietnam. During the seminar, Dr.Nguyen Thi Kim Loan emphasized that UFVN is more than just a feed supplier; it’s a trusted partner that supports farmers in increasing productivity and economic efficiency on farms. The plant in Saraburi, with a capacity of 12,000 tons per month, supplies UF’s farms and independent farms in Thailand.

Technology and Research – The Foundation of Success

One of the seminar highlights was Dr.Nguyễn Thị Kim Loan's presentation of Dr.Tokach's research on “The Influence of Weaning Weight and Growth during the First Week Post-Weaning on Subsequent Pig Performance.” She summarized three key findings:
         1. Weaning weight has a strong impact on the final weight at slaughter. For every additional kilogram at weaning, pigs can gain an extra 4 kg at slaughter.
         2. Growth in the first week after weaning is crucial to subsequent growth. Piglets that avoid set back in the first week post-weaning can be nearly 8 kg heavier at slaughter than those that set back.
         3. An optimized nutritional program maximizes performance during critical growth stages. UF recognizes the importance of weaning weight and early growth to final pig weights. Therefore, UF has developed a nutrition program for this stage to ensure optimal weaning weight and steady growth in the first week, supporting further growth and improving economic returns for farmers.

Campaign "1 Week – 8 Kilos" and "9 Weeks – 30 Kilos" – Proven Success Through Real-World Results

To demonstrate real-world effectiveness, UF launched the “1 Week – 8 Kilos” project, attracting participation from 11 farms. This project awarded the best perf orming farm with a prize worth 100,000 baht (about 70 million VND). Results showed that in the first week post-weaning, farms using UF feed saw an average weight gain of over 1.6 kg. After 40 days, or about 9 weeks of age, the average pig weight exceeded 30 kg, and farmers reported over 8 kg heavier final weights than before.
Following this success, UF expanded with the “9 Weeks – 30 Kilos” project across 13 farms. In this trial, weaned piglets reached an average weight of over 9 kg at 25 days, and by the ninth week, pigs averaged over 30 kg. These results validated Dr. Tokach's findings and proved that UF feed meets piglets' nutritional needs for growth throughout the rearing process.

Real-World Comparisons – UF Feed Outperforms Competitors

A significant part of the seminar was a comparison trial between UF feed and competitor feeds in the market. Dr.Nguyen Thi Kim Loan presented results from a trial involving 200 weaned piglets fed either UF feed or a competitor’s product. Results showed that piglets on UF feed did not experience diarrhea throughout the trial, whereas the control group began experiencing diarrhea on day 15 post-weaning. Additionally, the UF-fed group required significantly fewer antibiotics, only 800g of Amox-Colistin for 100 piglets. In terms of feed conversion ratio (FCR), the UF group achieved 1.28, lower than the control group’s 1.4, and their average piglet weight was 2.3 kg higher. This demonstrated that UF feed not only boosts weight gain but also improves feed efficiency and piglet health.

Affirming Quality and Inviting Collaboration

United Feed Mill Vietnam (UFVN) continuously validates the quality and stability of its feed lines through annual trials. From now, UFVN launch a new trial on 13 farms, offering attractive rewards for outstanding performance. We invite interested farmers to contact the company to register and have more information, contributing to the journey of proving the consistency and quality of United Feed Mill’s products.

Commitment to Accompanying Vietnamese Farmers

At the end of the seminar, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan reaffirmed that UFVN is committed to standing with Vietnamese farmers. With the motto “Being a Friend to Farmers,” UFVN not only delivers high-quality products but also helps farmers optimize profitability. UF’s success over the past 35 years in Thailand provides a solid foundation for continued growth and long-term collaboration with farmers in Vietnam, contributing to a sustainable and efficient livestock industry.
